I find questions about how and when they plan to use the information to be the most useful. I've become less interested in ratings of enjoyment and more interested in what are the results of the learning.

Consider the overall effects of focusing exclusively on technique and technology in our world today. There's a mystery to it all that can not be explained by technology and science. The world of arts reveals depth and the fact that we humans are interested in the mystery. The Institute of Noetic Sciences was created by Edgar Mitchell, PhD (EE) when he had a "Unitary experience" while taking off from the moon, and getting back home, he found that virtually all of the highly educated, technologically knowledgeable astronauts had had similar experiences. Should we not consider the advisability of an arts education as prerequiste for pre-mad students?

It's "The Law of Returns", isn't it? Treat others as you would have them treat you; treat yourself as you would treat others. The "wounded healer" has always been more effective because she works on her own healing, too.

The sites list ( at http://library.uchc.edu/eduoff/sites.html ) has been updated recently, Deirdre, so if you would like to add whatever sites you find appropriate for clinical education to your wiki that would be wonderful. Also, I'm KerC on http://del.icio.us you want other sources or links for clinical content. Thanks,
Kathleen

Dierde,
Thank you - what I'd like to do first is write about your wiki on the EBM blog... if that is OK with you.

Deirdre, I am interested in exploring your wiki on Wetpaint. Thanks for posting the link. I have a few items to contribute: a blog for medical students, faculty and librarians about evidence based medicine literature, sources and search strategies, at http://creakysites.wordpress.com. Also as a health science librarian in an academic setting, I do search training for incoming medical and dental students, and have written a basic sites/syllabus for clinical information, which is at http://library.uchc.edu/eduoff/sites.html.

If your time permits, please take a look. Thanks very much,
Kathleen
